Adelbert’s Scratchin’ Hippo Biere de Garde.
From Texas comes a malty-delicious brew that goes well with steaks and BBQ. Why are we not surprised? The beer is characterized by a roasty malt flavor, a slight sweetness and some cocoa undertones that pairs well with the richness of red meat and smoked flavors. We’ve heard that the carbonation levels sometimes vary from batch to batch, but all we know is that the batch in the bottles we got is perfectly carbonated to highlight the flavors that Adelbert’s has brewed up for us.
Claritas by Mike Hess Brewing.
With our weather in California quickly jumping from winter into the middle of summer, you’re going to want to stock up on this one. Incredibly light bodied and refreshing, this Kolsch style beer has subtle fruit aromas but a dry clean crisp finish.
Nothing cools down a hot day like an ice cold wheat beer. Germans were the first to introduce this beer style and Erdinger Weißbier is truly the best hefeweizen on the market. The yeast is really fine allowing for a smooth, crisp drinkability that goes perfectly with a light lunch and maybe mix it with some banana juice for a truly Bavarian treat.
